Dr. Deng Qingping is an associate professor in the Institute of History at China University of Political Science and Law. She received her PHD in History at Beijing Normal University (Dissertation – County and Wei-so: the change of Administrative Division and frontier society in North China – the case of Yuzhou in Ming-Qing Period”. From 2010-2011, she was a visiting scholar to the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Deng research interest focus on the social history of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
During her stay at UBC, Dr. Deng will deliver a lecture on “Willem A. Grootaers’ survey and research on rural society in North China in the 1940s”
