Gerjan Altenburg, Ph.D. student in Indian Buddhism at McMaster University, received a stipend to support dissertation writing.
Gerjan is interested in Indian Buddhist monastic literature extant in Sanskrit and Tibetan. He received his B.A. in Religious Studies and Classics from Dalhousie University in 2012, and M.A. in Religious Studies at McMaster University in 2014. He has taught a course called “Storytelling in Indian Religion” for the 2018 Summer term at McMaster University.
